But I didn’t tell them about my work or show them cool skills and tricks. I took them through the highs and lows of my career, showing them how my skills have never really attributed to my success – sounds strange right?
No, I know I’m not the best at what I do. I have the skills I need to do my job to a high standard of course – but I’ve always excelled with my mindset not skillset.
Here’s how:
👉 Never put a ceiling on your success
👉 Apply for roles beyond your skills
👉 Show enthusiasm
👉 Ask for feedback – and take it!
👉 Help others
👉 Have the confidence to share ideas
👉 Present well to client
It’s the often overlooked “soft” skills that have enabled me to design for amazing brands like Sainsburys and Jamie Oliver, and to now leading the social media department of an award-winning marketing agency.
In our constantly changing digital landscape, it’s your positive and determined mindset, adaptiveness to learn new things, confidence to articulate ideas and willingness to help others that will really lead you to success.
Well, at least it has for me 🤷♀️
What would you say has been the driver of your success? I’d love to know 👇
