Welcome to the School of Arts…
…here at the University of Worcester. I hope this website gives you an insight as to what we are about and the opportunities you can benefit from by being here.
You will find tabs introducing you to the ‘Friends of the School’; ‘What’s On’ including the School of Arts ‘Industry Talks’ series. You will also have access to student work and some of the opportunities to connect with industry, business and community and the guest professionals within the courses.
The purpose and ambition in the School of Arts, is focussed on nurturing your creative intelligence and practice, to help you find your own voice whilst simultaneously preparing you for the world of work whether that be within and outside of the Creative Industries, which is one of the largest sectors in the UK.
Our philosophy is to treat you as student artists and practitioners from the moment you arrive you will work in studio environments to develop your ideas and practice. Over the three year’s you will gradually move towards sharing your work with industry professionals via for example, Awards events, exhibitions or festivals and engaging with opportunities allied to the arts.
We do not believe that education exists in a vacuum and the School of Arts is very well-connected and considers engagement with external agencies to be central to your success. Thank you for reading this far. I hope to meet you soon.
