This year’s UCAS has now passed, but keep your eye’s peeled for next year’s event!
Huge congratulations to everyone who helped design, set up, and represent our School of Arts at Manchester’s UCAS event last week. We had the pleasure of talking to over 600 prospective students across the two day period, inviting them to take part in some of the many interactive activities our stand had to offer, and answering any budding questions about University and courses in the Arts that they may have had.
Create Your Future is an amazing opportunity for prospective students to chat with current students, alumni, course tutors, and a wide array of professionals and support staff in order to get a better understanding of what University might be like. This insight can be invaluable, allowing prospects to find out what courses sound right for them. One of our focus’ within this year was to help with this, while also encouraging attendance to an open day. There is nothing quite like going to the University to see if it’s right yourself.
This year’s theme was to identify Worcester with inspiring words on the banner. We really leant into the interactivity this year after last year’s success, with the entire banner being open for people to come and draw on. We also had a live printmaking station, in which visitors were invited to create their own lino-printed posters that they were able to take back with them. We received many compliments for our stand design, both from students and other Universities, many of whom were delighted at the opportunity to draw on the walls.
My thanks to everyone on the team. Well done all!
