Studying Graphic Design has been everything
I hoped it would be. I remember hearing the
term graphic designer being thrown around
and having to google exactly what it was.
It turned out it was a career that combined
all my strengths and interests, essentially
creating a job out of my hobbies.
I particularly enjoy print design, and find being
able to physically hold the item I invested
time and effort into creating very rewarding.
Studying graphics has also given me the
opportunity to develop my interest in
photography, and having this extra skill
will be useful in future career opportunities.
I also enjoy experimenting with illustration,
typography and composition in my work.
I’ve learnt how to use the fundamentals of
design and translate them across print design,
web design and photography making me
a well-rounded multi skilled designer.
I love the unpredictability of graphic design,
thanks to different briefs I’m now experienced
in a range of creative media including,
sustainability and contemporary art. My
curiosity to learn more makes me very
excited for the future.
