Megan Martin’s is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work explores the ideas of race through her own families’ Indian culture, originating from Goa. Growing up as a mixed race Catholic woman, relocating from Southall to the ethnocentric area of rural Gloucestershire. Her works begin to dissect her feelings of belonging through an incorporation formed of installation constructed from interviews, old family photographs and drawing on memories from a time of belonging. The creation of work through manipulating old photographs to attempt to find a sense of inclusion as well as using elements of domestic objects and text to create her work.
